What people ask first.
Can a non-technical person run it?
Yes. The editor works like Word — click, type, carry formatting between elements with the format painter. And when you set up a label, the wizard takes you through it step by step, so you never have to learn the GS1 fine print.
How does the trial work?
You get 30 days to try it. Not on demo data — you set up your own GS1 prefix and number sequence and print on your real orders, so you see straight away whether it fits your warehouse.
What exactly gets scanned?
The barcode (EAN) that's already on the goods from the factory — you never print new codes for scanning. The warehouse worker scans the first item going into the box, and Etiketo turns it into a new parcel with its own SSCC. A standard USB scanner is all you need — it acts as a keyboard, no special integration. No scanner? Enter the parcel count by hand; both paths end in the same label.
Do I need my own GS1 Company Prefix?
Yes — an SSCC always belongs to your company's prefix, which you register with your national GS1 organisation. Etiketo doesn't issue prefixes; it only builds valid numbers from yours.
Does it work without a Zebra printer?
Yes. Every label downloads as a PDF and prints on any office printer. Zebra is the faster route, not a requirement.
What if we've already issued SSCCs another way?
During onboarding we set your sequence to continue right after the last number you actually used. Nothing collides.
Do you also handle EDI/ASN notices for buyers like Alza?
The app handles the physical label. Electronic despatch advice (DESADV) is handled case by case — write to us with what your buyer requires.
Can the label carry batch and expiry too?
Yes — enter the batch and expiry for each item in the parcel, and the app prints them on the label next to the SSCC, in a single barcode built to your buyer's requirements.
Does every label have to carry an SSCC?
No. The editor also makes labels with no barcode at all, in any custom size you can save as a preset.
Where does the app run, and what happens to my data?
Hosted in the Czech Republic (EU), access only through a secure login, and every sensitive change goes into the audit log.
